Current Employer: Sullivan Group HR

Why did you become involved with SHRM SAV Chapter?  For professional development, growth, and networking with other HR professionals.

What is some of the best career advice you have been given?

Fire fast and hire slow
Always hire someone smarter than you
Catch an employee doing something right
Your job title will not be on your headstone

What are the words you work by (or what is your motto when it comes to the way you live your career)? Assumption is the lowest form of knowledge.

Where do you find the most inspiration?

My smile file.
It is where I keep thank you notes, words of encouragement, etc. from various individuals from my professional past. Whenever I ger frustrated I will pull my file out and remind myself why I do what I do.

What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment to date? My family and faith

Who has been the most influential person in your career?

Two former managers, Lisa Nucci and Kim Dobson. They are complete opposites and they both coached me differently. Both ladies taught me about excuses, accountability, and how to lead with empathy.

What do you love most about HR? Helping my organization while also helping my people.
