SHRM Savannah Awarded For Elevating Human Resources, Improving Workplaces
SHRM recently awarded SHRM Savannah its prestigious EXCEL Platinum Award for the Chapter’s accomplishments in 2023. The EXCEL award is given to state councils and chapters to recognize major accomplishments, strategic activities, and tactical initiatives that elevate the profession of human resources. “SHRM’s impact on the world of work is due to the dedication and efforts of our chapters and state councils like SHRM Savannah “The Platinum EXCEL Award is not only a celebration of the great work done by SHRM Savannah it’s also recognition of their focus and determination to cause the effect to make great workplaces”, said Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP, president, and chief executive officer of SHRM. “Their HR leadership is exemplary.” The EXCEL Award can be earned at four levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Each level has a prescribed set of requirements and accomplishments that must be met. SHRM Savannah will receive recognition in SHRM publications and at conferences, a logo to display on its website, and information to share with its members about the significance of this award. The SHRM Savannah chapter hosted SHRM Inclusion Conference- Volunteer Member Engagement Opportunity to Engage SHRM Savannah members and surrounding area chapter members to participate as volunteers at a SHRM conference. Chapter Members were able to experience the connection to SHRM; working along side SHRM team members to support facilitating a National conference. A real dual member experience. Over 25 SHRM Savannah/22% of dual members participated and today share the experience with other members. The chapter also hosted SHRM Savannah Annual Conference- Resilient HR To engage area HR professionals and create community; a day of networking and learning for 200 plus participants in a county having 30 or more Fortune 500 companies. Of over 60 registrations/ 47 HR Professionals heard from speakers on topics around performance evaluation, burnout, leadership , talent development. Members also heard from Curtis Woody, SHRM-CP, Director, Fields Services, SHRM. |
