On April 17, 2023, SHRM Savannah officially became the second dual member chapter in Georgia!!! Our goal is to continue to grow our chapter, increase dual membership in SHRM and SHRM Savannah and create engagement and valuable networking opportunities for our members. 

You must belong to National SHRM to become a member of SHRM Savannah. You will be part of the largest professional organization in the world that is dedicated exclusively to the advancement of the human resource management profession. As a dual member, you will gain full access to a wealth of services and programs. Additionally, you have a plethora of opportunities to enhance your skills through volunteerism as a volunteer leader on the board or a committee.

SHRM Savannah is dedicated to providing the resources that increases your human resources knowledge and visibility and make you more valuable to your organization. We strive to provide our members and guests an opportunity to network and enhance their careers which allows them to elevate themselves as leaders in their respective organization. We also offer students pursuing degrees in Human Resources, Business Management, and other fields opportunities to learn more about their chosen careers and create invaluable relationships. We extend the invitation to all to attend one of our upcoming chapter meetings or events to learn more about the benefits of a SHRM membership.

Becoming a dual member of SHRM and SHRM Savannah offers you the tools, resources and the support you need. We offer you an opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, business acumen, and leadership ability of HR Professionals. At SHRM and SHRM Savanah you are able to build a strong network of  HR peers, engage in educational and leadership opportunities, and learn about the latest trends and changes in the industry. 

As a member of SHRM and SHRM Savannah you will have an opportunity to serve, advance and enhance the HR profession such as:

1.  Meeting and networking with other HR professional

2. Developing relationships and contacts in diverse organizations to share ideas and resources

3. Obtaining local professional development opportunities and recertification credits towards your SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP

4. Gaining access to HR best practices from your peers

5. Gaining access to current information on pending legislative HR issues

Membership Dues: The rate to join SHRM is $244 (rates increase in February 2024 to 264) and $130 for SHRM Savannah. SHRM and SHRM Savannah offers a multi-year discount on dues when you purchase multiple year memberships. Join today to receive all the advantages of becoming a dual member with SHRM & SHRM Savannah.  

Student Member Dues: Dues for student members are $50.00.

Professional Partner dues: The rate to join SHRM Savannah as a business partner is $155 (includes registration and meals for chapter meetings).

If you are a member of multiple local chapters and SHRM Savannah is not your primary chapter, we invite you to designate SHRM Savannah as your primary chapter by completing the form below.

Monthly Meeting Fees: Effective January 1, 2024 non-dual members (local members only) will be assessed monthly fee of $25 which covers the cost of registration and their meal.

Guest Chapter Meeting Fees: Effective May 1, 2023, guests will be assessed a $35 fee per meeting. This includes the registration and meals which may be paid at the time of registration.

Membership Types

Professional Member 

Includes those individuals who are engaged as one or more of the following: practitioners of human resource management at the exempt level for at least three years; hold an HR certification recognized by SHRM or HRCI; faculty members holding an assistant, associate, or full professor rank in human resource management or any of its specialized functions at an accredited college or university and have at least three years of experience at this level of teaching; full-time consultants with a minimum of three years HR of experience; full-time attorneys with at least three years experience in counseling and advising clients on matters relating to the human resource profession.

Professional members in this category have voting rights and may hold office in the chapter.

Student Member 

Individuals who are enrolled either as full-time or part-time students, at freshman standing or higher; enrolled in the equivalent of at least six (6) credit hours; enrolled in a four-year or graduate institution and/or a consortium of these or a two-year community college or technical school; able to provide verification of a demonstrated emphasis in human resource management, business administration and managerial subjects; and student members may not vote or hold office in the Chapter but may serve on a committee.

Student membership will be limited to six (6) years from initial start date. A full-time student enrolled in a graduate degree program may apply for an additional (2) years of student membership.

Student membership applies to undergraduate and graduate degrees, not doctorate degrees.

A student member cannot have previously held professional membership. Upon graduation or academic withdrawal, student member must convert to professional membership during the next renewal cycle.

Professional Partners

Individuals who do not meet the necessary criteria for professional membership will be classified as professional partners (vendors and sponsors). This membership will be limited to either the owner or manager of the organization providing the product or service to the HR practitioner.
