Workforce Readiness
Workforce Readiness can be defined as the competence and willingness of employees to change and adapt according to the needs of the workplace. Not everyone enters the workplace with all the skills that they will need to do their jobs, or at every stage of their career. Workplace readiness skills are personal qualities, people skills, and professional traits that are necessary to maintain employment. These skills are important because they are the most desirable skills employers are searching for in potential employees. SHRM believes that government and employers play a role in providing worker training and development opportunities to maintain a skilled labor force.
