SHRM Savannah understands how important your certifications are, and that is why we secure credits for both SHRM and HRCI certifications for each of our programs. To support HR professional in their pursuit of HR Certification.
SHRM Savannah is seeking individuals who are currently certified to help teach certification prep courses for the SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP and/or HRCI certifications. Our goal is to offer a 9 week Certification Test Prep Course twice per year to help prepare for the SHRM and/or HRCI certificate exam. The SHRM Savannah certification prep course will provide resources to help prepare potential test takers.

Is it time for you to recertify? Are you near the end of your 3-year recertification cycle or short a few credits? Want to jump start the year and earn a few credits? SHRM Savannah is an approved provider of recertification credit hour for SHRM and offers continuing education credits throughout the year. Register for our monthly meetings, chapter annual conference or state conference to secure those credits!
HR Certification Overview
There are two entities that offer professional certifications for HR professionals: The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Human Resources Certificate Institute (HRCI). SHRM Savannah supports both the SHRM and HRCI certifications for our members. The HRCI certifications build human resources knowledge and the SHRM certifications provide HR professionals with the competency to apply it. HR certification is an opportunity for HR professionals to validate their individual expertise in the body of knowledge and competencies that are shared within the HR profession. It is also an outward sign of knowledge and professionalism that is recognized by all HR professionals and most employers.

SHRM offers two competency based certifications for HR professionals: SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). The scope of work and depth of your experience will determine which exam is best for you. SHRM Certification gives you the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of the core competencies needed to ensure your success in today's business environment.

Certification is a voluntary action by a professional group to establish a system to grant recognition to professionals who have met a stated level of training and work experience. Certified individuals are entitled to make the public aware of their credentialed status, usually through the use of initials after their names.
There are certification options provided by SHRM and HRCI.
