January’s changing of the guard in Washington means new (and some familiar) ideas about workplace laws and regulations. This presentation will highlight the changes made under the Biden administration and what we should expect over the next 4 years. Areas to discuss include the gig economy, wage and hour, LGBT rights, and paid leave, among others.

Sarah Lamar is a partner with the Savannah law firm of HunterMaclean where she practices in the area of employment law. Sarah has experience representing employers in employment litigation in state and federal courts regarding discrimination, harassment, wage-hour, breach of contract, and tort claims. She also conducts in-house training for employers and advises clients on a variety of employment law issues. She received her B.A. degree from Yale University and her J.D. degree from Emory University. Before private practice, she was a law clerk to the Honorable Richard B. Kellam, United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia.

 

For 10 years, Sarah Lamar was the Chair/Co-Chair of the State of GA SHRM Government Affairs Committee and she is also the past chair of ALFA International, a global legal networking organization. Sarah has been named as one of the “Best Lawyers” in Labor and Employment Law and a Georgia Super Lawyer. She is “AV” rated by Martindale Hubbell and the highly competitive Chambers USA legal directory highlights Sarah in its Georgia Employment Law rankings.
